Wine labels in the U.S. don’t even require producers to list all the ingredients, leaving us in the dark about what we're actually drinking. So unless a bottle is certified organic, biodynamic, or sourced from a reputable clean wine brand, it’s pretty much a mystery what’s inside that bottle.

Now, Clean Wine is often used as a buzzword. It typically suggests that there are no unnecessary additives, low levels of sulfites, and minimal sugar and that the products have been tested for toxins."Clean wine" is not a regulated term. Anyone can put it on a bottle. What you're actually looking for is Demeter Certified Biodynamic, certified organic grapes, low or no added sulfites, and a brand that will tell you exactly what's in it when you ask. If they can't answer that, it's branding, not clean.
