Hi friend!
I’m Kacie. I curate life so things feel easier and test what’s worth your time and money, so you don’t have to. Chronically Chic is where life can stay beautiful, functional, and enjoyable even when it gets complicated.
I share personal stories, guides, digital tools, and curated finds that make everyday life feel better without lowering your standards, no matter what season of life you’re in.
Beauty is where Chronically Chic started.
Years before the site existed, I had a makeup tutorial YouTube channel as a teen, freelanced as a makeup artist through college, and worked at Sephora for a bit, which gave me early exposure to how products are marketed versus how they actually perform.
Then my skin stopped cooperating. Perioral dermatitis, a severe nickel allergy, and suddenly, the products everyone swore by were a hard no. Influencer recs stopped making sense. “Clean beauty” stopped meaning anything. I got selective, paid attention, and figured out what actually works when your skin is picky
Wellness followed the same logic.
When fatigue, food reactions, and my skin symptoms made generic advice useless, I stopped chasing fixes and started paying attention.
What gave me energy? What made meals feel good instead of stressful? What habits made life easier instead of annoying?
That’s the backbone of Chronically Chic. Beauty and wellness with standards. Discernment over restriction.
Food that’s worth eating
At Chronically Chic, food has always been indulgent, just with standards. I went to culinary school, worked in food, and grew up on Italian and Southern cooking. I’m not interested in sad substitutes or pretending flavor is optional.
When certain ingredients stopped working for me, quitting my favorite meals wasn’t on the table. I adapted them instead. Same comfort, same satisfaction, just smarter, healthier execution.
Too Many Dreams, One Brain
College was messy, but not for lack of ambition. I changed my major more times than I care to admit and briefly convinced myself I could double major and minor without consequences. I wanted everything. Surgeon. Makeup mogul. Broadway star. You could say I flunked decision-making class. I had the drive, just not the right systems yet.
To stay on top, I went all-in on color-coded planners, Pomodoro timers, and every productivity hack I could find. What I learned the hard way was this: forcing the wrong structure only leads to burnout.
I stopped trying to work like everyone else and started building systems that actually fit me. Flexibility over rigidity.
How I Stopped Burning Myself Out
I used to be the queen of ignoring my own needs. I pushed myself until I was basically running on fumes, and burnout became my middle name. My health, career, and relationships all suffered.
After a lot of soul-searching, therapy, and more self-help books than I care to admit, I finally learned something simple but non-negotiable: if I don’t take care of myself, everything else falls apart.
These days, self-care looks less like a concept and more like maintenance. Downtime, routines, and little rituals that keep me functional. Sometimes that means zoning out with The Sims, taking a long bath, or binge-watching reality TV with Jon.
If you struggle to make yourself a priority, I get it. I’m not here to tell you to overhaul your life or disappear into “wellness.” I’m here to remind you that boundaries, breaks, and saying “no” when you need to are how you stay in your life instead of burning out of it.
Fashion: Staying Myself Through Every Phase
I’ve gone through just about every style phase you can think of. Preppy, punk, hipster, glam, vintage. Trying things has always been part of how I figure myself out.
At this point, my style is a mix of everything I genuinely love, not what someone says I should be wearing. I’m all for fun trends, but I’m also the first person to say, “Screw trends, I wear what I want!” LOL. I care about how clothes make me feel in my body and in my life. Some days, that’s a great outfit for going out. Other days, it’s loungewear that still feels intentional.
Fashion, for me, isn’t about chasing what’s “in.” It’s about staying connected to myself, even as seasons, phases, and circumstances change.
What I’ve Learned The Hard Way
I’ve had some pretty big losses. My dad died of cancer when I was 22, and our cat Wesley died just a few months ago, and both of those completely knocked the wind out of me in different ways.
I’ve also dealt with a lot of health stuff and anxiety that made it impossible to keep pretending I could just push through everything forever. None of that turned me into someone who wants a smaller life. If anything, it made me more stubborn about holding onto the parts of life that feel good, meaningful, and worth the effort, even when things hurt.
This is where I put the things I care about, test, and make life feel chicer instead of heavier. Some of it’s practical. Some of it’s personal. If you’re here, poke around, take what works, and make life feel good where you can.
That’s Chronically Chic.
Love, Kacie 💖
